Vice Admiral Muhammad Shafi, HI (M), joined the operations branch of the Pakistan Navy in 1971. Specializing as a principal warfare officer, he has held various command, staff and instructional appointments during his naval career.

During his over 39 years service in Pakistan Navy, he served as Commander Coastal Areas (responsible for all naval ports & the entire Pakistan coastline), Commander Logistics (responsible for all maintenance activities in Pakistan Navy & its supply chain management), Commander of the 25th Destroyer Squadron and commanding officer of the PNS Shahhjahan and PNS Shamsher. He also rendered meritorious services on the prestigious posts of Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Training and Personnel), Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Operations), Director Naval Intelligence, Principal Staff Officer to Chief of the Naval Staff, Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Plans), Director Naval Warfare and Operational Planning, and Divisional Officer and Instructor at Pakistan Naval Academy.

Academically, Admiral Shafi earned his Master of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies from National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad in 2001. In addition, he has completed Resource Management Course from Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey California in 2003, Financial Management in the Navy from Naval Officers Training Centre, USA in 1990, Command Course from HMS Dryad, UK in 1994, Staff Course from Naval war College, Newport Rhode Island USA in 1987, PWO (Principal Warfare Officer) Course from HMS Dryad, UK in 1979 and obtained his Master Mariners Certificate from Government of Pakistan (Ports and Shipping).

He was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), in 2008, Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) in 2003 and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) in 1987.

He enjoys reading and cricket and is married with two children, a boy and a girl.

Mr. Farouq H. Rahimtoola has been appointed as Board Member of Port Qasim Authority w.e.f. 06-8-2008. He is the Chairman of Rahimtoola Group of Companies. He is a renowned  businessman in the industry of of Shipping sector since 1974 such as ship owning, ship management, chartering, agency etc. Mr. Farouq H. Rahimtoola served as Director Gawadar Port Implementation Authority, Chairman of PSAA and as member of various Committees of Ministry of Port and Shipping. He is also rendered his services to several private & public companies in the capacity of Director.

Mr. Siraj Kassam Teli has been appointed as Board Member of Port Qasim Authority by the Federal Government w.e.f. 18th July, 2009.   He is a leading industrialist with distinctive qualities of leadership. He belongs to a renowned business family and serves as Director of Pakistan Beverage Ltd. (Pepsi-Cola) Karachi, Hyderabad and Quetta, Gul Ahmed Energy Limited, Latif Cotton Mills Limited, Pakola Products (Pvt) Limited and     Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited.

He has served/serving as President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Chairman, Pakistan Beverage Manufacturers Association, Patron-in-Chief and Chairman, SITE Association of Industry and as a representative of the business community on the boards of SITE Limited, Land Utilization, Civil Aviation Authority, Sindh Workers Welfare Board, Workers Welfare Fund, KESC, etc.

As Chairman Businessmen Group (BMG), he has rendered extraordinary services in leading the business and industrial community with revolutionary and progressive changes in trade affairs and functioning of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SITE Association and other trade bodies.

Siraj Kassam Teli is also widely acknowledged for his public service and social work initiatives like working for compensation for the victims of Boulton Market Ashura Day incident. He is a member of Resource Development and Public Affairs Committee of Aga Khan University Hospital and Trustee of Memon Medical Institute.  He has made valuable contributions towards improvement of the national economy and creating better conditions for the people of Karachi.

For his outstanding services, he was conferred the degree of Doctorate of Philosophy (Honoris causa) by the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences of the Institute of Business and Technology (BIZTEK).

Mr.Mohammed A.Rajpar first served as Board member of PQA from March, 2006 to June, 2008 and was reappointed on 2nd June, 2009. He is also currently a Trustee of Karachi Port Trust and Karachi Dock Labour Board.

He belongs to the ports and shipping industry and is Managing Director of General Shipping Agencies (Pvt) Ltd since 1992. He completed his Master of Philosophy (Economics & Politics), from Cambridge University, U.K. in 1992 and Bachelor of Science (Business Administration), from Bucknell University, Pa, U.S.A. in 1989.

He serves or has served on various bodies such as Prime Minister's National Trade Corridor Improvement Programme, Ministry of Ports & Shipping Advisory Committee on Shipowning and Planning Commission Task Force on Maritime Industry.

He is active in various business organizations such as Pakistan Ship's Agents Association as Chairman for 2006-07 and 2008-09, Diplomatic Affairs Sub-Committee, KCCI as Senior Vice Chairman for 2009-2010 and Pakistan - Belgium Business Forum as President since 200l.

He is also active in socio-welfare activities such as Zainabia Educational Society as Hon. Secretary since 2003, AI-Murtaza School as Board Member since 1996 and British Overseas School as Vice Chairman from 2007.

Mr. Anjum Nisar has been appointed as member PQA Board by the Federal Government w.e.f. 01-12-2009. He is presently Managing Director of Anjum Asif (Pvt) Limited. He was awarded gold medal by the Ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for rendering services to the business community of Pakistan. Prior joining PQA, he was president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industries (KCCI). As a nominee of KCCI, he served following Committees / Board / Institutions as a Member;

He served Export Promotion Zone Authority as a Director. He was Chairman of KCCI’s  Custom & Valuation Sub-Committee and FPCCI’s Standing Committee on Consumer Items. He conducted numbers of lectures on different aspects of trade and industry as well as on cultural issues. He is a popular choice of talk shows on electronic media on the subject trade & industry. Numerous publications on trade & industry are also on his record.
